Artwork Description: “Untitled Scribble Study #1” and “Untitled Scribble Study #2” are a pair of sculptures that form part of a series called ‘Signature Series’. They are meant to explore the visual impact of a simple scribble in a contemporary art space. Standing at 50cm and 1m long respectively, the sculptures are made of PVC and steel and were created using a mix of traditional and modern techniques and technologies. The designs were created digitally and are intended to mimic the artist’s personal signature in a simplified form. When displayed together, the sculptures create a visual narrative that invites the viewer to explore the possibilities of simple line work in a three-dimensional space.

THOMAZ CAUCHI

Thomaz is a 38-year-old tattoo artist specialising in fine line, black and grey tattoos. He has been tattooing full-time for the last seven years and has a strong technical background, having trained with pencils for the previous five years. In addition to his tattoo work, Thomaz has a passion for contemporary art and enjoys exploring his creativity in a less rigid and more experimental way. With a natural curiosity and a willingness to explore new ideas, Thomaz sees himself as a work in progress, always learning and evolving through his experiences. His artistic practice is a reflection of this mindset, with a focus on experimentation and growth. Though he takes a technical and precise approach to his tattooing, his other artistic pursuits allow him to be inquisitive and push the boundaries of his creativity.
