PROTECTION VS. SHROUD

KATEL DELIA

Medium: Unique piece. Polymeric material, glass globe, fabric

Size: 22x18x16cm

Year: 2023

Artwork Description: Katel Delia has a constant interest in migration and perception of spaces, here also inspired by the artistic work of her friend Angélique Lecaille about landscape. In this sculpture she explores ’Protection Vs. Shroud’ - the ambiguity of our thoughts pitted to our actions. Through the mushy flabby landscape, Katel deflects the purpose of the glass globe that usually covers the whole sculpture. On the other side, the fabric, the shroud that could be also perceived as the sea, is bound.
