Painting is a language to express what cannot be expressed in words. Having started to paint at a young age, allowed Sarah to work in various mediums including watercolours, acrylics, and more recently oils. The essence of a painting is often captured in its first few brushstrokes and then slowly as one adds on layers it reveals itself. Sarah works swiftly and uses this tempo to her favour when she paints en plein air, which is a weekly appointment she has kept for the past 8 years. With time she is drawn to simplicity, reducing even the number of colours she used to work with, to a restricted palette. Art is a journey and Sarah tries to follow it and experiment to keep the work as fresh as possible.
