About

FABIO BORG

Fabio Borg (b.1974) is a Maltese artist with Italian heritage, whose passion for art began at a young age. He studied drawing and painting at the Malta School of Art, mentored by Anthony Calleja, and later spent years in Italy, engaging with local artists which deeply influenced his style. Borg also received mentorship from Gabriel Caruana, who encouraged him to hold his first solo exhibition at The Mill in 1999. Borg continues to exhibit globally, including a solo show in Rome in 2022. His recent works have gravitated towards abstraction, capturing fleeting moments and raw emotions through intense, chaotic lines that reflect the fast pace of modern life. These scribble-like lines create a strong visual tension in his pieces. Borg works primarily in acrylic on canvas, valuing the medium's versatility and quick-drying properties. His studio provides the perfect environment to reinterpret scenes, offering freedom from external distractions. Borg's art continues to evolve as he explores the intersection of urgency, emotion, and modern existence.
