About

CELIA BORG CARDONA

Celia Borg Cardona was born in Oxford, UK in 1957. She went to school at the Convent of the Sacred Heart and later graduated from pharmacy at the University of Malta. After having spent some time living in the UK she studied art at the Malta School of Art for several years and then attended the studio of Anthony Calleja for many years after that. Art, mostly painting, gradually overtook her scientific career when she was in her thirties and she has been a full-time artist for over two decades. In this period she has exhibited widely both in Malta and abroad, in solo and collective exhibitions. Her artistic focus has primarily been on two-dimensional works, often exploring themes related to the Maltese landscape and urban scenes. She frequently employs high or unusual viewpoints.
