Artwork Description: This composition is made up of two separate etchings which were created during Grima’s formative period in Perugia. The graphic matrixes are combined to form a new work which revolves around memories. The artwork presents a contemplative aura associated with the idea of reminiscences. The composition is a one-off artist proof, signed and dated.

EMAN GRIMA

Eman Grima is a visual artist who worked significantly in both figurative and abstract art. He was the co-founder of the Ġgajta Art Exhibition Group. Moreover, he was also the Honorary Secretary of the Malta Society of Arts Board of Directors. Grima’s artistic portfolio presents a creative and extensive exploration of the human form, portraiture, the Maltese social context, and aesthetic issues. He began his formative and art studies under George Fenech, Gabriel Caruana, and Joseph Borg Xuereb. He attended the Malta School of Art with Esprit Barthet as his main tutor, followed by courses at the Accademia Di Belle Arti in Perugia, Italy. Since 1969, he has held 15 solo exhibitions and participated in major national collective exhibitions locally, as well as abroad. His artistic work is represented in the national collection MUŻA, the Malta Society of Arts, and in private collections, both locally as well as abroad.
