Victor Agius

Victor Agius’s first contact with art was in his father’s studio, the Mario Agius Sculpture Studio. He studied under Harry Alden, later graduating from the University of Malta, and moving to Perugia, Italy, and Central Saint Martin’s College for Art and Design (London) to further his studies. Victor is co-founder of Ars Vitae Ensemble, and has worked as a visiting lecturer at the University of Malta. His artworks have been exhibited at the National Museum of Fine Arts, Valletta Contemporary Gallery, Pjazza Teatru Rjal and Spazju Kreattiv in Valletta, the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ġgantija Temples, the Mdina Cathedral Biennale, St Agatha’s Catacombs in Rabat and The Mill – Art, Culture and Crafts Centre by the Gabriel Caruana Foundation. Agius has exhibited internationally in the St Eufemia Gallery (Venice), the Lauba Gallery (Zagreb), Eduardo Secci Gallery (Florence), the European Ceramic Context in Bornholm Art Museum (Denmark), and the Faenza Prize at the Museo Internazionale della Ceramica (Faenza Italy), amongst others.
