Madeleine Gera was born in Malta and has lived and travelled widely in Germany and Italy. She was awarded a long-term scholarship to study art In Florence. She also has an MA in Aesthetics (University of Malta). She is married to Henry Deguara Caruana Gatto and lives in Valletta, Malta.
